Ohio Church Security License Guidelines
Many houses of worship have started providing security during worship services or other activities. Below are some helpful ways to determine if the security provider needs to be licensed:
No license is required if:
- The individuals providing security are unpaid volunteers
- The individuals providing security are paid directly by the house of worship as an employee
A license is required if:
- The individuals providing security are paid by the house of worship as a 1099 contract employee
- The house of worship hires a business to provide security
